Remembrance Day

November 11, 2020

On Wednesday we took some time to pause and reflect as part of REMEMBERANCE DAY. Although we couldn’t meet in the same room, we still felt it was important that we remember together those who have given their lives in order to keep us safe today.  We held our own Remembrance Service in the Hall which was shown in each classroom via Teams. Some of the Year 6 children led us in readings, poems and music. Gwen and Keziah played a beautiful version of Peace Perfect Peace on their flutes and Roseanna and Eleanor (Year 4) played The Last Post on their trumpets either side of the minutes silence. Each child in the school made their own poppy with some of their thoughts and feeling about remembrance. During the service, two children from each class came and hung them on a wooden cross in the hall. Rev. Jema Ball joined us (via Teams) and shared some thoughts about Peace. As school we are going to continue to think about how we can be peacemakers.  In each classroom, we also sold poppies in order to support the continued work of the Royal British Legion
