What we do
The Cedar Park After School Club is run for the children at Stoke Bishop Primary School and is based on the school site.
The after school club is a happy, secure and stimulating place that leaves you without the day-to-day problems of after school or holiday childcare. An extra bonus is that your child gets to know children throughout the school.
During term time
We will collect your child from school and escort them to the play scheme building which is on the school playing field (behind the croquet club).
We offer a drink and toast/fruit, but if you decide that a little more is needed then you can provide a snack or packed meal.
Supervised activities include:
- Arts and crafts
- Reading
- Organised games (indoor and out)
- Occasional cookery
- We also have a ‘chill-out’ room
During school holidays
There is also a School Holiday Play Scheme which runs from 8.30am to 6.00pm during the school holidays. You deliver your child to the play scheme. We have a full programme of activities with something different to try every day. We even plan a trip to a local park or a nature walk (weather permitting).
We do not provide lunch or snacks, so you are free to give your child whichever packed lunch and snacks you/they wish.
During school holidays the cost is £33.00 per child per day.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel an after school session, we will need two weeks notices, otherwise you will still be charged the full rate. During the holidays, there is no cancellation time; bookings will need to be payed for even if children do not attend. This is to cover all staff costs that are pre-booked.
To cancel a place permanently, please provide four weeks notice in writing.
Sickness
If your child is sick and will not be attending play scheme, please inform us before the end of the school day. You will still be charged for that day.
Who runs the play scheme?
Paid workers run the after-school club and school holiday play scheme on a day-to-day basis. These workers are carefully chosen to provide a happy, stimulating and caring environment for your children.
A voluntary management committee oversees and administers the scheme. It is made up of parents who have children at the school.
We would encourage you to volunteer to join the committee. It is not onerous and, without it, play scheme couldn’t exist!
